    What's happening in August

    August kicks off with music. Summer Open Mic Night @ Pink MCR where you can grab a mic or just watch, with a vintage pop-up from Hilton House residents Spearpoint Vintage alongside it. Two days later it's Outside the Box Comedy Club at the Garrick, their award-winning stand-up showcase back for another night of laughs on the 7th.

    School's out, so it's a big month for family days too. Stockport Krazy Races takes over Mersey Square on the 9th with homemade karts battling a 350m course of chicanes and water splashes, and Stopford House Party follows on the 16th with live music, workshops and local makers for the whole family.     August closes out on a high with the Made in Manchester Festival taking over Romiley for the bank holiday weekend on the 29th and 30th; tribute bands, a fairground and a dog show for good measure.
