The menu features elegant brunch and lunch plates rather than greasy spoon classics, with dishes that will change throughout the year. It’s a lovely little social spot to meet friends if you want somewhere that feels like a treat, yet relaxed and unpretentious.

Laco has built a reputation as one of the most popular café spots in Stockport Old Town. It’s small, welcoming and popular with locals.

A favourite dish has to be the Despacito: tortilla with grilled cheese, beans and Colombian sausage alongside more traditional South American Burritos and empanadas, or more classic options. There are weekly house specials to try, and you’ll want to keep going back.

Libby’s is worth travelling slightly further out of town for. Sitting in the centre of Marple Bridge, it’s a bakery and café known for its freshly baked bread, pastries and generous brunch plates.

Expect dishes like eggs Benedict, sourdough toast and delicious freshly baked pastries made in-house, plus a terrace area overlooking the weather that’s lovely in the summer months.
