The SK Lowdown is a local guide to what’s happening in Stockport.

I moved here a few years ago and started this as a way of keeping track of the places I like going and things to do, so what’s on, what’s new, and what feels like a good reason to leave the house.

The What’s On lists aren’t meant to cover everything. They’re the things that catch my eye, including markets, live music, pop-ups, the odd talk or exhibition. You’ll also find places to eat and drink, independent businesses, and local projects that feel worth knowing about — all in one place.

By day, I work as a PR consultant with hospitality and retail brands, so I spend a lot of time thinking about how people discover things and what’s worth paying attention to.

As the site grows, there may be ads or paid partnerships, but I’ll always be clear about what’s paid and what isn’t.
