I'm Max, the editor and founder. When I moved to Stockport a few years ago, and quickly realised how much the town had to offer, particularly across independent food, local events, and creative businesses…the problem was there wasn't one place to find out about it all. I was picking up flyers, screenshotting posts, and constantly forgetting where I'd seen things and missing out. So I built SK Lowdown.

The site and socials are updated regularly and the audience is local, engaged, and growing. I only share places and things I genuinely love and would recommend to a friend, and when there's a paid partnership, I'll always say so.

I have a background in PR and media, including time at Getty Images working alongside some of the UK's biggest broadcasters and publishers, so I understand how to create content that reaches the right people. I work with independent venues, shops, and events on features, listings, and partnerships that feel like a genuine fit.
