Independent Florists around Stockport

Stockport is fully in bloom this time of year which has inspired me to do a round-up. Whether you need something beautiful for a birthday, a wedding centrepiece or just a reason to make someone's day, we are blessed with a choice of super talented and independent florists in the borough:

Sweet Bud Florals

16 Merseyway, Stockport SK1 1PJ

A gorgeous addition to the town centre, Sweet Bud Florals arrived at Merseyway in late 2025 and quickly made its mark. Founded by Liv Woodward, the studio brings an eco-conscious, artistic approach to floristry with no unnecessary plastic, no generic arrangements. The style is contemporary, which makes it a great shout if you’re looking for something a bit considered and unique. Previous clients include the BBC and Penguin Publishing, Sweet Bud Florals is a regular supplier to other local businesses, and you can often see her work in independent cafes across Stockport.

Urban Bloom Flower Studio

Stockport - Studio based and online, bouquets available at Underbank General Stores

A fashion-inspired, contemporary floristry studio based in Stockport led by founder Catherine Lovell-Davies. Urban Bloom specialises in modern floral design for weddings and events with editorial, on-trend arrangements that push the boundaries rather than anything traditional or safe. If you're planning a wedding and want floristry that feels current, this is one to look at. She also run workshops via Eventbrite if you’d like to go have a go yourself.

Hazel Grove Flowers

300A London Rd, Hazel Grove, Stockport SK7 4RF

Open since 2001, Hazel Grove Flowers has built its reputation on unique tropical and exotic blooms. They offer different services from everyday bouquets to large-scale events and corporate floristry, and they're particularly well known for wedding flowers. If you are looking to treat yourself, they also offer flower subscriptions as a lovely option.

Cheshire Flowers

294 Buxton Rd, Stockport SK2 7AN

A small, family-run business with a big emphasis on bespoke design. Cheshire Flowers sources blooms from quality suppliers both in the UK and abroad, and the style leans into nature-inspired arrangements that can be modern, contemporary, Bohemian, or cottage garden style to your taste. They offer same-day delivery and click-and-collect, and cover a wide sweep of the borough and beyond.

Gresty's Florists

262 Wellington Rd S, Stockport SK2 6ND

A Stockport institution, Gresty's is a family business established for over 80 years and a reputation comes with it. Based on Wellington Road South, they cover everything from everyday and traditional bouquets to corporate floristry and funeral flowers, with same-day delivery available. Gresty’s a florist that's been making people's days for decades and is still going strong.

Black Raven Flowers

Ok so technically based in Sale rather than Stockport, but Black Raven’s alternative floristry studio is too good to leave off this list and she is a regular at the Alternative Markets and pop-ups. Florist Bec works predominantly with dried and preserved florals, drawing on a love of antiques, Victoriana, Gothicana, and entomology, using parlour domes, taxidermy, and arrangements that wouldn't look out of place in a Victorian curiosity cabinet. If your aesthetic runs darker then this is your florist. She also does custom flower crowns and headpieces for events.

Digg Inn

72 Stockport Rd, Marple, Stockport SK6 6AH

Not technically a florist but I’m including them here because they have such a fantastic selection of plant and flowers. Digg Inn is a unique concept store in Marple that combines a record shop, bar, café, gift shop and fresh flowers all under one roof. The ground floor has seats surrounded by vinyl LPs on one side and plants, bouquets, and plant-related gifts on the other. It’s likely you’ll pop in for a bunch of flowers and leave an hour later having had some lunch and a coffee or maybe something stronger. The place is a vibe.
