Last-minute Father's Day gifts in Stockport
Father's Day is on 19th June this year and while crept on us fear not, we've got you covered here with our pick of thoughtful gift ideas from Stockport's independents that your old man is sure to love.
'Stocky' t-shirt @ Chambers Skate Shop
Arguably the best Stockport merch going. If he’s a proud Stopfordian the 'Stocky' t-shirt at Chambers Skate Shop is £30 and the kind of thing your Dad might actually wear rather than shove in a drawer, and a playful take on that other well-known streetwear brand. Chambers also stocks a great range of locally designed clothing and skateboard merch, all high quality and definitely worth checking out.
Father's Day cards @ The Warren
If Dad jokes are your love language, The Warren's card selection is truly unmatched. Funny without being try-hard, original without being weird (well maybe a bit, but that’s why they’re great) you're guaranteed to find something that hits the mark and this shop never disappoints. They’ve got a great gift selection too from local makers and artists so you might even be able to do your full haul here.
His favourite tipple @ WineBoy
You don't need to know your Grenache from your Gamay to shop at WineBoy. Tucked inside the Market Hall, they’ll be able to help you find something your Dad will love, be it a genuinely interesting bottle of wine or a locally brewed craft ale, or maybe even a subscription if he knows his vino. A great selection, well chosen. Job’s a goodun.
Toolbox @ Display Only
This toolbox is cool in the way that most toolboxes aren’t, really. Not only is it an excellent storage solution, it comes in such a cool yellow that it would almost be a shame to hide away in a shed. Display Only is a Stockport company and, while the workshop has recently closed its doors to the public, everything is still available online. The cafetière and tool belt are great suggestions too if your Dad's more of a hands-on kind of person.
Charcuterie @ Stockport Provisions
Unit 34, Market Hall, Market Pl, Stockport SK1 1ES
If your Dad's idea of a perfect afternoon involves good cheeses, meats and crackers and not having to leave the house, Stockport Provisions is worth a visit before Father's Day. They stock an impressive range of locally sourced produce from Manchester, Cheshire, and beyond including some seriously good Cheshire blue. The team in the Market Hall will be able to rustle you up a platter that's a cut above anything you'd find in a supermarket.
