Where to shop Vintage clothing in Stockport

As a long-time vintage clothing lover I’m prepared to make a bold claim: Stockport is one of THE best places in Greater Manchester to shop for vintage clothing. Whether you’re hunting down a Frank Usher classic, searching for the perfect Y2K tee or designer thrift, you’ll likely find it here in SK.

From a Grade II-listed mill packed with independent traders to curated online boutiques, here’s your guide to finding the best vintage clothing in the Stockport area.

The Vintage Emporium

Stockport Rd West, Bredbury, Stockport SK6 2BP

Pear Mill is a Grade II listed Edwardian cotton mill, and the Vintage Emporium fills it with over 65 independent traders selling everything from vintage clothing and accessories to mid-century furniture, ceramics, vinyl, books, and decorative homeware. You could quite easily immerse yourself for hours so consider it a day out.

Because every trader prices independently, you can easily find both a bargain and a real antique gem within the same visit. There's free parking on site, and a traditional tearoom inside with home-baked cakes that feels quite fitting. Pear Mill is open seven days a week, just look out for the giant pear on top of the building; you can't miss it.

Mardy Kids

For the cool kids, Mardy Kids Vintage, also situated in Pear Mill, is a great find if you're kitting out your little ones.

The stall sells gorgeous, preloved children's clothing. Each piece has been lovingly sourced by Mardy’s owner Sarah, who as a Mum of 5 says she only chooses pieces that she would dress her own children in for the store. You’ll find everything from cute embroidered baby rompers to funky retro sport ath-leisure wear, shoes and accessories all in amazing condition… and if you’re anything like me find yourself wishing they came in adult sizes too!

Right in the heart of Stockport town centre, at 26–27 Market Place opposite the Market Hall, 20th Century Stores is a collective of vintage traders spread across the space. It’s much bigger than it looks, and you'll find clothing, accessories, books, homewares, and collectable memorabilia as you work your way around the store.

Millennial UK

Stockport-based Millennial UK has built a 12k-strong Instagram audience on the strength of a very focused edit: 80s and 90s vintage menswear and womenswear, with a strong emphasis on graphic tees, single-stitch pieces, and Americana. The stock curation is driven by a genuine love of graphic prints, pop culture and music, and this can see in every drop.

There's no permanent shop, but Millennial runs bi-monthly pop-ups and appointments at a showroom in Stockport. Follow on Instagram (@millennial.uk) to catch the next event before it sells out.

Top of The Town Vintage

Top of The Town is an online vintage boutique based in Stockport. Founded in 2019 by Sophia Rosemary, the name itself is a nod to the Manchester nightclub her mum frequented in the 70s to dance to soul music, which tells you everything about the sensibility behind it. Every piece is hand-picked, repaired, laundered and arranged into seasonal collections with the idea being that vintage shopping should feel considered and easy, not overwhelming.

Whilst the standalone store has closed its doors, the online shop continues to carry that same curatorial eye forward. Sophia also offers personalised sourcing and one-on-one styling advice as an additional service. New beautiful pieces drop monthly in limited numbers, keeping things fresh and exciting.
