New Pilates Studio to open at Weir Mill
A new wellness concept is joining the line-up at Weir Mill, with ‘Kontrol’ set to open as Stockport town centre’s first studio to offer both reformer and mat pilates, bringing a health and fitness offering to the newly regenerated waterside neighbourhood.
The studio will see a characterful industrial space at the new Capital & Centric complex reworked into a calm, design-led setting that balances movement with stillness. We can expect nine luxury reformer beds, alongside a dedicated area for mat pilates and barre.
Kontrol will blend classical pilates principles with a more contemporary approach, built around its ethos of “building the body’s framework for life”. Open seven days a week, it’ll offer a mix of beginner, intermediate and 1-2-1 sessions, led by expert instructors with a deep understanding of anatomy and movement.
It’s the latest addition to the growing mix of independent businesses located at the Weir Mill development, where heritage buildings and modern structures are being reimagined into a neighbourhood built around lifestyle, community and wellbeing.
Vanessa Lees, Founder of Kontrol, said:
“I grew up in Stockport so it’s not only really exciting to be part of the Weir Mill development but also to watch the town evolve and grow. We’re really looking to welcoming both Stockport residents and workers to our studio. Pilates isn’t just a form of exercise, it’s a discipline. We’re not only moulding bodies to look super healthy, we’re also building a formidable structure to carry us through to our 80s and hopefully beyond.”
