Remember, remember, the 5th of November is on Thursday this year, so Stockport is doing the sensible thing and spreading events across the week. There are displays taking place across the region from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th so you’ve got plenty of chances and choices ahead of you.
Here I’ve rounded up everything I could find with an SK postcode grouped by night, with times, prices and booking links wherever they've been published.
Saturday is the busiest night by a mile, so book ahead if you've got your heart set on a display near you. Dress for it, think wellies over white trainers as muddy cricket pitches in November do not bode well for your gleaming white sneaks…

Marple Bonfire, Brabyns Park
29 Brabyns Brow, Marple Bridge, SK6 5DT
This is the 54th Brabyns bonfire, run by 1st Marple Scout Group and Marple District Girlguiding with help from Marple Rugby Club, Marple Runners and Friends of Brabyns Park. The firelighting procession is the bit I'd get there early for. Food stalls and mulled wine on site, and since parking round the park is tight, it's worth knowing Marple station sits right on Brabyns Brow.
From 6pm, firelighting procession 7pm, fireworks 7.30pm

High Lea Park, New Mills
St Mary's Road, New Mills, SK22 3BW
Billed as the biggest free bonfire in the High Peak, run by New Mills Town Council. Pubs usually put on live music and cafés stay open late, so it's a whole-town night rather than just a display. Listings disagree on this year's date (one says Thursday 5th, the council's usual first-Saturday pattern would make it Saturday 7th), so check with the town council before heading over. Get the train if you can: New Mills Central is a few minutes' walk and the streets round the park get parking restrictions.
Usually from 7.30pm
